Empowering grassroots vegan advocacy across China
The China Vegan Society is dedicated to making sustainable and ethical vegan lifestyles mainstream in China. By providing funding and resources to vegan and sustainability advocates across the country, we remove barriers to action, accelerate grassroots impact, and foster a diverse and innovative vegan movement.
Our grant program targets promising advocacy projects that increase public awareness, acceptance, and practice of vegan and sustainable lifestyles.
Grants range from 5,000-15,000 Chinese yuan. Larger grants are available through special application.
In addition to funding, the China Vegan Society supports grantees by providing consultation, mentorship, tools, information, and publicity wherever possible.
To be eligible for grant funding, the project must:
be based in mainland China
be aligned with the China Vegan Society's mission, vision, and values
be impact-driven (not profit-driven)
Priority will be given to applicants who:
can demonstrate previous experience and success in vegan/sustainable advocacy
have participated in China Vegan Society networking events
Eligibility
Evaluation
Applications are reviewed and evaluated by the China Vegan Society team. Proposals will be approved for funding based on the following qualifications:
Impact. The project produces measurable outcomes aligned with the goal of increasing public awareness, acceptance, and practice of vegan and sustainable lifestyles.
Feasibility. The project goals can be achieved within the determined schedule, scope, and budget.
Sustainability. The project can continue producing impact in the future.
Replicability. The project can provide a blueprint for other advocates to take action.
Urgency. The project can be implemented and produce results in less than six months.
Planning. The project has an implementation plan with well-defined phases, milestones, and goals.
Innovation. Projects introduce new approaches or solutions to target problems.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. To apply, candidates must:
Prepare a thorough project proposal, including goals, implementation plan, budget, and use of funds
Fill in the application form and upload all required materials
Wait 2-4 weeks for evaluation and follow-up
